Lynn Kristine (Wolf) Tacha was born and raised in Grand Junction, Western Colorado. After graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder and serving two years in Nigeria, West Africa teaching with the United States Peace Corps Lynn followed her parents, George H. and Selma E. Wolf, into the education profession and taught at the Jefferson County Schools. She became a farmer when she married Warren L. Tacha and moved to Jennings, Kansas.
Lynn served on many local boards and was the City Clerk for Jennings. The times she spent working for the Jenning City Library, the Heritage Quilt Club, the Tuesday Study Club and the Jennings Book Club were her favorite.
Lynn died from cancer on July 13, 2024 and was cremated. Memorial gifts for the Jennings City Library or your local city library will be greatly appreciated.
Her husband, Warren L. Tacha; sister, Rilla A. Wolf; nieces, Kendra M. Kettler and Dr. Jennifer M. Zumsteg and husband, Brian, were very important in her life.
The following speaks of her strong belief in God. It was included in the United Methodist Church, Jennings, Newsletter by Glenn Krebs:
The man whispered, “God, speak to me.” And a meadowlark sang.
But the man did not hear.
So the man yelled, “God speak to me!” And the thunder and lightning rolled across the sky.
But the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said, “God, let me see you!” And a star shined brightly.
But the man did not see.
And the man shouted, “God, show me a miracle!” And a life was born
But the man did not notice.
So the man cried out in despair, “Touch me. God, and let me know you are here!”
Whereupon God reached down and touched the man.
But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.
After seeing a tee shirt saying, “Being cremated is my last hope for a Smokin’ Hot Body”, Lynn laughed and thought that was as good a reason as any.
