How to succeed in software engineering amidst constant change:It’s a fact of life: the software engineering landscape is constantly evolving 🔄.That’s why dynamic capability planning is essential for success 💡.Think about it like a race 🏁.If you want to reach the finish line, you need to constantly adjust your strategy based on the terrain, your competitors, and your own energy 🏃♂️.Dynamic capability planning helps you do just that in your software engineering career 👨💻.It involves:1️⃣ Being aware of the latest trends in the industry 📊2️⃣ Being flexible enough to adapt to changes 🌊3️⃣ Building a strong foundation of skills and knowledge 🧱Just like a runner has to focus on their breathing and pace to endure a long race, you need to focus on developing your technical and soft skills 💭.The key is to keep moving forward, always taking S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound) steps to achieve your goals 🚀.Remember: the race of software engineering is a marathon, not a sprint 🐢🐇.So, keep your dynamic capability planning up-to-date and stay ahead of the curve. You got this 💪!Schedule 1:1 with me for Career Coaching: https://lnkd.in/gMntWpY #softwareengineering

Dear Graduate Engineer,It would help if you recognized which of your skills are weak and which are strong. In the early years, you want to take courses that help build your weak skills. As you get experienced and niche down, you want to use courses to sharpen your skills.Agree?

Reflection Post: These past six months as a Software Engineering Placement Student at MMT have been nothing but a rewarding journey, largely because I kept an open mind and received loads of support. Here are some of the things I'm mostly happy about: 🌟 Social Learning Days: Organized and coordinated by Lynda Grayson 😊, this is a day each month free from technical jargon and work, focusing on soft skills such as personal branding, presentation skills, etc. This has helped me become more self-aware and improve my soft skills in the workplace.🌟 Project Management: I have been exposed to working on stories using the JIRA platform to understand more about user stories and managing code changes using Azure DevOps. Preparing to demo after completing a story is also a crucial part of the process. In all, I have learned that communication (both written and verbal) is very important when working with the team on a project.🌟 Tech Languages and Tools: Writing clear and well-structured code according to coding standards, learning the syntax of technologies used, knowing the importance of accessibility and being surrounded by awesome engineers willing to walk me through or support me in different ways. Also, getting my feet wet with Kentico, a Content Management System, and recent interest in technical documentation to strengthen learnings.🌟 Placement Support: Shoutout to the incredible support system at MMT! Whether it's the Learning and Development budget, the unwavering support from my manager and teammates, or the overall encouragement, I've felt truly valued and supported every step of the way.As I look back on how far I've come, I can't help but feel grateful for the experiences, the feedback (both constructive and uplifting), and the opportunities that have come my way. Here's to embracing the journey and continuing to grow, both personally and professionally! 🙌
